TEACHING

Rachel is a passionate music educator with experience teaching private lessons, masterclasses, summer camps and school assemblies to students of all ages. She is experienced in teaching all genres of singing, but is specialized in commercial singing styles. In addition, she is an accomplished pianist in both classical and jazz styles. Rachel is in demand as a clinician, most recently at the 2023 OMEA conference where she gave a presentation entitled "Helping Middle and High School Vocalists Find Their Solo Jazz Voice."

Rachel is currently available for private voice lessons in person or virtually. Lessons with Rachel can include a variety of topics, including vocal technique, improvisation, vocal style/delivery, band leading and stage presence. Rachel is passionate about providing all students the strongest foundation so that they can explore all genres of singing with curiosity and flexibility. She is currently a commercial voice professor at Otterbein University, where she maintains a private lesson studio and directs a pop ensemble, the Anticipations.

In partnership with Jazz Arts Group of Columbus, Rachel has created several videos on vocal jazz topics that are available for free at jazzacademyteacherstoolkit.com. These videos were created to give music educators effective tools for instilling vocal jazz curriculum into their classroom.
